Just like the website says, they are a restaurant that happens to be in a hotel, not a hotel restaurant. My wife and I had a great dinner this week at Stephen's. The food was delicious - from the salad to the rolls to the ribs, we loved it all.

The food, service, and atmosphere were all awesome here! It is inside of the Double Tree. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but nice and open. I think their seating extends into the atrium if need be, but not 100% sure. I had the lobster Mac N Cheese and my husband had the Reuben (even though it was dinner time, they let you order off the lunch menu). Both were so good! The pieces of lobster in the mac N Cheese were huge! I will definitely visit this place again! Well done, Stephen's.

We were staying at the Doubletree and I had read their glowing reviews. We came in after 7 and here in Utah that means all wine purchases have to be from bars and restaurants since the state controlled stores were already closed. I had read about and seen a photo on Yelp of a delicious looking French Onion Soup. So I ordered a glass of wine and the onion soup. I would not say that it was poorly made soup. Only that it was lukewarm. I'd give them 2 1/2 stars if I could. But actually the service was kind of lackluster too. The wine was good.

I have been here 7 times and never been disappointed, their prices are very reasonable, and the food is top notch. I love the French onion soup and the bacon wrapped meatloaf are to die for. Great service and a great wine selection.

Read the reviews and despite staying at the Sheraton, decided to give this a try. No-one else was in the restaurant at 6:30pm on a Friday, but we went in anyway. We were not disappointed, food was excellent, especially the French Onion soup served in a hollowed out onion. I've never had that before and it was really good. Service was OK. Recommended.

Thank you once again Yelp! This place is a hidden treasure! I'm normally not interested to dine in a hotel's restaurant however after seeing the pix and reading the reviews I opted to give it a shot. I have to concur with Justin C. Stephens is an anomaly in today's world where for a change the total experience is light years ahead of the inexpensive cost. I ordered an $8 Caesar salad with a $4 side of shrimp. Delish! The salad should have cost $20 or more. Then my wonderful server, Mary, recommended the baby backs. OMG! Sheer insanity as the pork fell off the bone at only $18 for a full rack with two sides. I polished off the meal with the chocolate truffle cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Check out my pix. When in SLC, don't walk, RUN to this gourmet gem. As a side, I ate at the bar which was comfortable, cozy and appealing with multiple curved, amazingly precise as well as clear tv panels that showed ESPN channels.

So I went here with a group that was staying at the Doubletree. Expectations were rock-bottom. I would nominate this for the best-kept secret in SLC. There was literally no-one else in the dining room on a Saturday night. The menu was interesting...baby back ribs, lobster mac and cheese, french onion soup. Thing was, it was CHEAP. $15 for a half rack of ribs, $18 for a full rack. $17 for lobster mac and cheese. So, I assumed it would be crap. A thread of lobster draped over crappy mac and cheese...stale ribs... Well, that wasn't the case at all. Everything we got was really freaking good. Even the free bread was warm and good. I will come back here...seriously, check it out.

Lunch staff was friendly, they made all the changes I requested without complaint. However, the food was just meh. Chicken breast was dry and flavorless. Fries were over fried. Steak sandwich fell apart and was hard to eat. If I want somewhere quiet (only 1 of 2 tables during lunch hour), I might come back, but doubt it.

I had the baby back ribs and was extremely pleased with how these turned out. They smoke their ribs on sight to perfection... the meat is so tender that it does fall off of the bone. The service was excellent as well... very attentive. A great downtown restaurant, with free parking in the Doubletree garage.

Had the baby back ribs. They were huge, delicious and fell off the bone. Mac and cheese side was also delicious. Very attentive wait staff. If you are staying at little America this place is better for food.

This is the Doubletree's in-house restaurant. We ate both breakfast and dinner there. Dinner was acceptable. We had the onion soup. For my taste, it was a little sweeter than I prefer. The primavera pasta was good and the vegetables in it fresh. Evening service was excellent although there were few in the restaurant. Pleasant and efficient waiter. Breakfast was another thing all together. The breakfast is NOT included in your room. A couple of patrons were unhappy about that. The $15 buffet was very average, steam table fare and little more variety than a good motel includes with your stay. They do have an omelet bar. Save your money and eat breakfast elsewhere. Morning wait staff was not attentive and had to be asked for service. Nothing to get upset about but not very welcoming. Maybe because they cater large groups, their food is pretty much down the middle - not very interesting. Cheese on the side for vegans and turkey bacon. Ah well.
